Dr. Kristina Baucom

DVM, Veterinary Behavior Resident

Dr. Kristina Baucom's journey in the field of veterinary medicine has been nothing short of remarkable. She earned her undergraduate degree in Medical and Public Health Microbiology from Cal Poly State University. Following her passion, she completed her veterinary education at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2015.

Since her graduation, Dr. Baucom has gained extensive experience in various veterinary settings, including general practice and shelters. In 2016, she embarked on an inspiring journey as a forensic veterinarian with the ASPCA. In this role, she not only conducted crucial forensic investigations but also shared her expertise by teaching Veterinary Forensic Medicine at the University of Florida. Her contributions extended to research, with the publication of a noteworthy paper and case series. Dr. Baucom's dedication also led her to collaborate on both small- and large-scale criminal animal cruelty cases nationwide.

Through her impactful work, Dr. Baucom came to recognize the profound significance of behavioral medicine in enhancing the welfare and quality of life of all animals, transcending the boundaries of cruelty cases. She has recently spent a year at Ohio State University as a veterinary behavior resident, furthering her knowledge in this critical field.

Now, Dr. Baucom is excited to continue her journey as a resident with SABT, where she aspires to make a positive difference in the lives of animals and their families in Charlotte, NC. Her dedication to improving animal well-being and her extensive background make her a valuable addition to the SABT team!
